Works In Progress
I thought it might be interesting to have a section on this
website where a viewer could see what happens as I work on a painting.
The painting I have chosen for the first exploration is 'I-93',
Oil and chalkline on Canvas, 96" x 66". This painting is named
for the highway that runs north and south through Boston. When I
brought work back from my 1980 thesis show at Tufts to my downtown
studio, this large painting blew out of my husbands truck and landed
on the road . All four corners had to be repaired. I thought it
was finished in 1980, but in 2005, I knew 'I-93' could go farther.
This sequence of images records its progress.
